Overview

"I Wish" a Catch the Sun original picture, is a ticking time bomb story about a man who is running from his past, afraid to face the truth about a crime he committed and got away with. Everything changes for him when he gets into an Uber, finding a phone in the back seat, where he meets "The Voice" who offers him a deal he cannot refuse. Will he accept it and continue running from his past? Or will he face the music before it's too late?

Challenges & Approach

In the realm of short film productions and proof of concept pitches, we're often faced with the dual challenge of tight budgets and limited time. Despite these constraints, our vision for 'I Wish' was unwavering—we aimed to capture the essence of Neon Noir on screen, even with minimal lighting equipment at our disposal. Understanding the importance of post-production finesse, we strategically opted for Arri footage, renowned for its flexibility. To amplify the desired aesthetic, we chose Atlas anamorphic lenses. We knew that achieving the true essence of neon noir would require meticulous post-processing efforts, but we were prepared to undertake the task, determined to deliver a cinematic experience that surpassed expectations.

The result

The project was fully praised as an excellent proof of concept and will be running the festival circuits as a stand alone short film. The final result really brings the essence of Neon Noir to life giving a vibe of large scale production and incredible execution from all departments in front and behind the camera.
