Overview
"Infringement" tells the story of a young girl's relentless pursuit to connect with her absentee father, despite her mother's cautionary words. As she ventures down this emotionally charged path, unforeseen obstacles arise, challenging her perceptions and reshaping her journey. This project courageously delves into difficult subject matter, amplifying the voices of those often overlooked or unheard.
Challenges & Approach
From the very first frame, we immerse audiences in a cinematic journey, rich with emotional depth and authentic character portrayals, heightened by the evocative interplay of natural lighting. When Kaitlin Bauld approached us with this challenging project centered on Heather's story, we recognized its significance and embraced the opportunity. Delving into the unsettling reality faced by countless individuals each day was no easy task, yet it was a vital narrative to share. Our opening statistic, "Every year, 293,000 individuals experience sexual assault," lay the groundwork for a vital conversation that demands attention. Despite the project's sensitive nature, we approached it with care and dedication, mindful of our limited resources. Leveraging the earlier Blackmagic cameras and Nikkor glass, we meticulously crafted each scene, ensuring that the story was told with integrity and authenticity.
The result
This project made its way through the festival circuit, garnering significant attention. Countless individuals approached us after viewing the film, sharing their own experiences or those of their loved ones that mirrored the story depicted. While we are deeply saddened to hear these stories, we are also grateful for the trust placed in us by those who chose to share their trauma.
